Door Opener Academy is in search of exciting individuals who are interested in making a commitment to provide services to youth with serious emotional disturbances (SED). Do you have Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) experience?

 

SED’s are a group of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents which cause severe disturbances in behavior, thinking and feeling.

In order to become a contractor, you must have direct experience working with children that have SED including:

  • bipolar childhood onset;
  • conduct disorders;
  • eating disorders;
  • obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); and
  • psychotic disorders.
  • affective disorders
  • Disruptive Behavior Disorders
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Oppositional defiant disorder
  • Conduct disorder
  • Depression
  • anxiety disorders

 

***Having worked with children with “Special Needs” will not be considered qualifying experience, as “Special Needs” is a general and broad term. For example, experience with children who only have PDD, Autism, developmental and/or intellectual disabilities are not qualifying experience.

Your Role as a Family Virtue Partner Contract Facilitator

As a Family Virtue Partner Contract Facilitator, you will be working with unpaid caregivers that are experiencing the reality that accompanies caring for children age 6-18, who are living with a Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).

Every family possesses unique qualities and has specific needs. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to utilize your natural creativity to walk with families as they define success and surpass their anticipated expectations.

POSITION LOCATION

This position consists of delivering Home and Community-Based (HCBS) services.  Monthly video calls will be utilized to discuss and approve your creative plan for the family you are serving, in accordance with the Plan of Care (POC). Your office will be mobile.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

This service requires mandatory completion of the Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA) training, titled “FAMILY SUPPORT AND TRAINING.”  Following completion of the training, a comprehensive knowledge exam must be passed.  You may only provide this service when you have been DMHA approved.

COMPENSATION

Family Virtue Partner compensation is up to $22 per hour based on your area of expertise and education level (a maximum of 2 service hours daily, can be provided per client).

Your Role as a  Youth Virtue Guide Contract Facilitator

As a Youth Virtue Guide  you will be directly working with children age 6-18 that are experiencing the reality of   living with a Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).

Monthly video calls will be utilized to discuss and approve your creative plan for the family you are serving to accordance with the Plan of Care (POC).

This service requires mandatory Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA) HABILITATION scheduled training, as well as comprehensive knowledge exam following completion of the training.  You may only provide this service when you have been  DMHA approved.

Youth Virtue Guide compensation is up to $32 per hour (a maximum of 3 service hours daily, can be provided per client).
